Altadore Gymnastic Club, home of the 2004 Olympic Champion Kyle Shewfelt and 1992 Olympian Jennifer Wood, is seeking a Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) Program Coordinator/Coach.
The MAG program at Altadore has a very important legacy. As the home of former Olympian Kyle Shewfelt, and the home gym for 83-year-old Ed Vincent who started the MAG program at AGC (and who is still training), we are dedicated to bringing the program back to its former glory. We are looking for someone with the drive and passion to make MAG great again!
We are looking for someone who has strong ideas and goals for running a program in its entirety. Grow the program and bring back the MAG grandeur we all miss.
You will be working with an amazingly supportive team. The culture at AGC is second to none. We help each other, we lean on each other, and we put our gym families first. We’re all about customer service, and helping children achieve their goals in a supportive, fun environment.
This is a part-time position (to start) located in Calgary, Alberta and reports directly to the Leadership Team. As you grow the program, it will grow into a full-time position.
The MAG Program Coordinator/Coach is responsible for organizing, implementing, and communicating all activities in the MAG program. This person is also responsible for coaching the assigned groups to provide a learning environment for all athletes and prepare them for (future) competition. The role is accountable for working within the Club’s vision, mission, policies, procedures and goals set forth by the Leadership Team.
-NCCP Level 2 certified
-Valid first aid and CPR Certification
-Excellent communication skills
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite
-Excellent knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastics safety
-Police Security clearance
-Knowledge of the adopted programs set out by AGF and GCG
Job Description and Responsibilities
-Coach MAG program and Recreation classes as determined by the Leadership Team
-Organize class groups and structures
-Planning, communication, and coaching responsibilities
-Develop coaching rotations with other Coaches
-Adhere to the program budget
-Actively recruit and develop new athletes
-Communicate with parents on class structures and changes, child’s progress, competition information and any concerns that may arise
-Communicate and work as a team with administration to ensure a high level of customer service
-Communicate and work as a team with all other Coaches and Staff
-Supervise athletes in a safe and effective manner
-Ensure the gym and equipment are safe, organized, clean and well maintained
-Maintain a professional appearance
-Participate in coaching at competitions, training camps, etc.
-Adhere to the code of conduct for coaches and athletes for AGC, AGF, and GCG
-Attend all coach meetings and club events as required
-Follow Employee Handbook and stay up to date on changes
-Create and implement annual athlete training and testing plans
-Promote and support the gym by presenting a positive, professional attitude

Part-time coaching opportunity to Coach our Competitive athletes, with a potential for additional hours working within our Recreational Program. Altadore Gymnastic Club is looking for an energetic WAG coach with at least 2 years of experience to work within a professional environment to mentor our athletes to develop their skills. You will work as part of an excellent coaching staff and we pride ourselves on our WAG teamwork environment.
-Minimum NCCP Competition 1 Certified or old Level 2 Certified in Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)
-Competition 2 Trained or Certified would be an asset
-Level 1 Trampoline Required, Level 2 Trampoline would be an asset
-Respect in Sport Certificate
-Completion of Making Ethical Decision: Competition Introduction Online Course
-Current First Aid and CPR
-Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
-Dance and Choreography Experience would be a definite asset, but is not required
-Spotting Experience and an eye for detail
-Potential to travel to competitions

Altadore Gymnastics club is seeking experienced recreational coaches. We offer a wide variety of recreational programs for kids aged 6 months to adult. We use the CanGym/CanJump program which is designed to promote FUN, FITNESS and FUNDAMENTALS.
– Minimum NCCP Foundations/Level 1 Coaching Certified (or willingness to obtain training)
– Good leadership and communication skills
– Possess knowledge of physiology, physical development and gymnastic safety
– Familiar or willing to familiarize with the adopted programs set out by the AGC club or the Alberta Gymnastics Federation or Gymnastics Canada
– Possess a valid First Aid and CPR certificate
– Compassionate, caring individual who enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities
