Here’s some answers to the most commonly asked questions.
What are we doing to keep my child safe (COVID-19)? Please see our Return to Play document to see what steps we are taking to ensure the safety of all our athletes and staff. This document was created with our Competitive Athletes in mind, but most of it will remain the same for the recreational athletes. One exception is the cubbies – recreational athletes will be allowed to use the cubbies in the lobby for their shoes, and do not need to carry their belongings in a backpack. Cubbies are cleaned between each class.
Please note that until further notice every child will need to have a Screening Checklist done every time they attend class. Please print it out or do it online before bringing your child to the gym.
The water fountain is currently off limits. Please bring a filled water bottle for your child.
Is there room in a class for my child? If it says ‘Register’ beside a class, there’s space. If it says ‘Waitlist’, it is full. Adding your child to the waitlist lets us know how many more children are interested, and if possible, we may open another class. If it less than 3 weeks until the start of a session, there probably won’t be another class opening. You can still stay on the waitlist in the hopes someone cancels their registration.
How much are your classes? All our prices are listed on our website beside the class. Starting in September 2020, we are starting continuous programs. Classes are $93/month for athletes under the age of 6, and $120/month for ages 6 and up. (Specialty Classes fees may differ.)
How does billing work? You pay when you register for the first month (it will be prorated if you join part way through the month). Then you will be automatically billed every month on the 27th for the next month. Want to withdraw? No problem! Just email firstname.lastname@example.org by the 25th and you won’t be charged on the 27th. Please monitor your credit card on file, as you will be charged a $30 NSF fee if your card declines. You can log into the parent portal to change your credit card at anytime.
I don’t have a credit card. How can I pay? No problem! You can send an Email Transfer to email@example.com to pay. Remember payment is due by the 27th for the following month, and the first payment needs to be done at least 24hrs prior to the first class.
What is the AGF Insurance fee for? This is a mandatory insurance fee that we need to submit to the Alberta Gymnastics Federation, plus a small AGC membership fee. It is valid from July 1 to June 30. The 2020 – 2021 fee is $55 for every Recreational Athlete.
AGF Members (excluding drop-in, birthday party and promotional activity participants) are eligible to receive reimbursement for medical expenses associated with injuries that occurred during an AGF sanctioned activity. This coverage is applied after the participant’s primary benefit package (e.g. Alberta Health Care coverage) is consumed. Costs such as immediate “out of pocket” expenses related to an injury may also be provided through this coverage (E.g. Ambulance Fees, air casts, crutches, etc.).
My child doesn’t meet the age requirement right now, can they still register? If your child doesn’t make the age requirement at the time of registration, but will turn the correct age within 2 weeks of the class starting, you can still register but you will have to call admin: 403-720-2711 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you have classes for my XX year old? Yes! Please check our website for information and ages for all our classes.
What should my child wear? Your children do not need to wear anything special, just comfy clothes (shorts and t-shirts work fine). Some girls do wear gym suits, but that’s completely optional. We have some gym suits in our Proshop if you want to come early and take a look.
Do we need to fill out a waiver? Yes, and they are now done online! www.altadoregym.com/waivers. If you are attending a Parent & Child class, the parent needs to do the ADULT waiver.
